Truvada!!!
Finally got my Truvada pills today. I was struck by two things. Even with assistance from Gilead, and with my insurance, I still have to pay $200 monthly for these pills. So, I don' t know if I'm going to stick with this or not. If I were able to bring the price down to $100 monthly, then it wouldn't be a big deal. I was also shocked by the size of the pills. They're HUGE!!!!!!!

Why do you have to pay $200/mo? If you don't mind me asking, what insurance do you have and is it because you have such a high prescription co-pay?
ReplyDeleteIt's $200 monthly because Caremark lists it as a "Specialty" drug, and if it weren't for the Gilead co-pay assistance card, I'd be paying $400 monthly.
ReplyDeleteTwo things: Gilead now offers up to $300/monthly co-pay assistance; are you getting the full benefit? And can you use a different pharmacy where Truvada would be categorized differently? You shouldn't have to pay so much out of pocket.
ReplyDeleteFuck with my Insurance I was paying like $1500. co pay. I was paying like 70 % of the drug price. Now on a free program.
